Why do I need to get my heating serviced every year?

We service heat pumps, boilers and heating systems across Caithness and Sutherland, on annual plans or one-off visits. We all know how it feels when our heating unexpectedly goes off. Let’s face it, it is always happens in the midst of the coldest part of the winter, when you are most reliant on it.

Servicing helps to avoid these breakdowns by cleaning it out, inspecting it for any issues as well as ensuring the ventilation and flue meets current safety regulations.

We offer servicing for:

  • Gas & Oil Boilers

  • Air & Ground Source Heat Pumps

You can book in for your servicing within our regular working hours, just contact us to arrange a suitable time.

Air & Ground Source Heat Pump

Our services for air and ground source heat pumps include:       

  • Electrical safety check

  • Check Thermostat operation.

  • General visual inspection of the unit

  • Refrigerant refill if required.

  • Check for leaks/pressures.

  • Clean filters and coils.

  • Check large components such as compressor pump and Fan.

  • Lubricate any moving parts.

  • Check seals and gaskets as per manufacture guidance.

Ground Source

  • Check antifreeze concentration in ground loop circuit.

  • Check flow and return in ground loop circuit.

Home electrics

Repairs to the mains wiring & electrics (circuit breakers, fuse boards, switches and sockets installed by RDI) inside your property that connect to the main supply.

1 year Heat Pump Package £240 per year or £24.00 per month.

Gas & Oil Boiler Service Package

As part of our service, we look at the whole heating system to ensure it is working correctly.

This includes:

  • A visual check of the boiler

  • A flue analysis & efficiency test to check your boiler is operating correctly

  • Removing the boiler cover and inspecting it, if necessary

  • Checking and adjusting the system pressure, if required

  • Cleaning the condensate trap, if necessary

  • Check the boiler is firing up and shutting down safely.

  • Checking that the ventilation & flue are in accordance with current Safety Regulations

  • Confirmation that the service has been carried out in your online portal.

Gas boiler & controls

Repairs to your boiler & controls (thermostats, frost stats, clocks, timers, and programmers).

Central heating

Repairs to your heating system (pumps, motorised valves, radiators, pipes, fittings, hot water feed and expansion tank).

Hot & cold-water pipes

Repairs to leaks on the hot and cold-water pipes inside your home between the stopcock and your taps or appliances.

Home electrics

Repairs to the mains wiring & electrics (circuit breakers, fuse boards, switches and sockets installed by RDI) inside your property that connect to the main supply.

1 year Oil or Gas Package £220 per year or £22.00 per month.

Terms & conditions

Annual servicing will be a pre-planned appointment, within our regular working hours.

Call outs will generally be within 5 working days and carried out by a registered and full qualified RDI engineer.  Call outs are limited to 3 per year.

In the event your appliance is unrepairable a contribution of £350 towards the cost of a new boiler/heat pump will be credited to your account.
